Recomendaciones para usar el ferry:

Cuando usted llegue al Puerto de Puntarenas, Paquera o Naranjo, lo primero que debe hacer es poner el vehículo en la fila para reservar un espacio en el ferry, cuando la embarcación llega un representante del ferry, repartirá unas fichas en la fila, con la que usted puede ir a comprar el ticket, con esa ficha usted no necesita hacer la fila en la boletería porque el ferry debe acomodar primero los vehículos y finalmente las personas, al comprar un ticket para el vehículo el conductor no paga, en ese momento usted también puede comprar el ticket de los acompañantes, habiendo una tarifa diferenciada para adultos y niños. Usted puede hacer éste trámite personalmente sin necesidad de intermediarios. al momento de abordar, solamente el conductor puede estar en el vehículo y los acompañantes deberán subir a pié. un acomodador dentro del ferry le indicará dónde ubicar el vehículo, si es en horas de la noche procure usar las luces bajas para no encandilar al acomodador, recuerde dejar el vehículo en cambio y poner el freno de mano.  El motor deberá estar apagado hasta llegar a destino.

 

 

Recommendations for ferry use:  

When you arrive at the ferry port of Puntarenas, Paquera or Naranjo, you first must be sure your vehicle is in the line for the ferry of your destination. A ferry representative will distribute a token to the drivers of vehicles in the line. The driver must take this token and purchase a boarding ticket at the ticket office (boletería).

Vehicles have priority over foot passengers, so drivers can go directly to the head of the line. The driver can also purchase tickets for all of the passengers traveling in the vehicle at the same time. A ticket purchased for the vehicle includes the driver and note the price differences for adults and children. You should follow this process yourself and not allow any intermediaries loitering in the area to make the ticket purchase for you.

As you board, only the driver remains in the vehicle and the passengers must walk into the ferry. Ferry employees will tear off the stub of you ticket, direct you into the ferry and show you where to park your vehicle.

At night, please use only your parking lights or low beam so you do not blind the ferry employees. Put on your emergency brake and remember where your vehicle is parked. The motor must remain turned off until the ferry reaches the destination port.

The driver must return to the vehicle as it reaches port and is the only person allowed in the vehicle at disembarkation. Passengers walk off and meet the driver and vehicle beyond the terminal.
