HORSE TOURS - PASEOS A CABALLO EN LA PENINSULA DE NICOYA

Ride through the rolling hills, through jungle and teak forests or local working cattle ranches. Enjoy magnificent cliff top views or refreshing dips and swim at a waterfall.

Experience the quiet ride through a private nature reserve and view the diversity of birds and animals often discovered along the way down to the ocean. Gallop at long stretches of white sand beaches at the pacific and play with our horses in the water. We at Finca los Caballos guarantee best conditions and health care for our horses.

We do not offer the usual trail ride, we plan all our tours with our guests, depending on the experience and personal expectations. The Tours are from 2 to 5 hours or more. Over easy or more challenging terrain, a pleasure for first time and expert riders.

All our tours are guided. Our horses are equipped with comfortable and light western style saddles. Enjoy with us the quiet experience to ride in our beautiful countryside and world class beaches. Our horses are typical local “Criollos”. Their ancestors were brought into Costa Rica from Spain in the 16. century. They are strong, sure footed and forward going, perfect for the tropical climate and the trails in this area.

As part of our family our horses are some of the healthiest and best trained horses you ever met. Finca los Caballos is a delightful nature lodge close to Montezuma, with only 12 rooms to offer personal service, privacy and tranquility. Inspired by our vibrant natural setting the hotel is designed and built with beautiful local woods, stone and terracotta floors, using local artists and furniture makers to create a relaxed, romantic and barefoot elegant atmosphere.

ARIO HORSE TOURS: Situated along 3.5 kilometers of undeveloped coastline, the landscape encompasses coastal reefs, rock shore structures, beaches, mangroves, estuaries, lagoons, wetlands, streams and rivers, and upland dry tropical forest. The tropical forest is home to a diverse native flora and faunawith hilltop vistas of the ocean and mountains. The combination of beauty, solation, and natural biodiversity defines a special paradise for research and learning.

Two of the largest rivers on Costa Rica’s Nicoya Peninsula merge within a the Caletas Ario wildlife refuge, at the mouth of one of the last large undeveloped Pacific coast estuaries in Costa Rica. Designation of 600 hectares as a wildlife refuge was the result of cooperation among governmental and private partners as well as regional stakeholders. RVS Caletas -Ario has the unique designation as a “mixed refuge” which allows for non-governmental involvement in the management. This status is achieved through the incorporation of private lands into the refuge and submitting these lands to the management plan https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.152296030724.241371.149484495724&type=1
