Escondido en
el extremo suroeste de la Península de Nicoya en Costa Rica, es sinónimo
de tranquilidad y bellezas naturales, sus rústicas casitas se complementan
con la hospitalidad de sus habitantes. Los días transcurren en paseos
a caballos o en kayaks, surfeando las peligrosas olas de sus arrecifes, o buceando
en las mansas piscinas naturales que se forman cuando baja la marea. El arrecife
protege de grandes olas y corrientes marinas haciendo de esta playa la preferida
en la zona para familias que van con niños o adultos mayores y para quienes
traen sus propias lanchas, tanto para desembarcar en la playa como para dejarlas
ancladas en un lugar seguro. En el mes de Marzo se festeja la famosa
Competecia de los Castillos de Arena atrayendo a muchos visitantes y dando un
toque de arte y alegría a la región. 
Manzanillo
is ubicated in the southwest of the Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica, is synonymous with tranquility and natural beauty,
where humble homes complement the hospitality of village residents. The days
go by spent in horseback riding or kayaking, surfing the dangerous reef or snorkeling
in tide pools. The estuaries of the surrounding rivers are yours to enjoy for
moments of peace and quiet or freshwater fishing. An extensive barrier reef
protects the beach from big waves or dangerous ocean currents, making this beach
a favorite spot in the area for families with young children or elderly couples.
It also offers an easy place for those sailing their own boats to disembark
on the beach or just remain anchored in a safe spot. In March, Manzanillo
hosts the famous Sandcastle Contest, one week in the year, art and fun make a
special coktail to enjoy this beach.
